We sell our vegetables at the Elora Farmers Market on Saturday mornings during the harvesting season - generally mid July until early October.
Our main vegetables are beets, potatoes, onions, carrots, garlic, radishes and corn. Contact us if you have any questions or would like to place an advance order. If you don’t live in Elora, we also supply garlic in Waterloo or Guelph through the Sustainable Market
Starting next season we are introducing CSA Shares. This is a growing food distribution method where customers purchase a share in the harvest by paying a one-time upfront fee and receive a share of the harvest each week of the growing season.
As a Mackay Farms CSA (Community Supported Agriculture)* member you will receive an assortment of fresh vegetables each week from approximately mid-June to mid-October.
A CSA Share will provide you with an assortment of seasonal vegetables for two or three people each week. The seasonal fee of $300 represents a significant savings from our regular market stall prices.
How do I get my share each week?
There are three ways to get your share.
1 - Pick up at the Farm on Fridays between 3:00pm and 7:00 pm
2 - At the Elora Farmers’ Market on Saturdays between 9:00 am and 12:00 noon
3 - In North Guelph by appointment
What will my share include?
Your share will include an assortment of whatever vegetables are ready for harvest each week. The harvest is dependent on many factors, but the chart on the reverse page is a good indication of our planned harvest. In addition, each member will receive a gift from our woodshop and a farm tour.
How and when do I pay?
Payment is by cash or cheque and is due April 1, 2019, before planting begins.
Is there any flexibility in what goes in my share?
Yes, if you are picking up at the farm or at the Elora Market it is no problem to swap out items. If you are picking up in Guelph simply contact us ahead of time to discuss available options. You can also suspend for vacations and make it up another time.
Is this produce farmed organically and sustainably?
Yes, we don’t use pesticides, herbicides or chemical fertilizers. We see ourselves as stewards of the land and are committed to continuous improvement of the environment.
2019 CSA Planned Harvest
*CSA – Community Supported Agriculture is a growing fresh food distribution method where the CSA member (customer) is linked directly to the farm. The customer purchases a share in the harvest by paying an upfront fee at the beginning of the season, thus sharing in the risk and bounty of the season.
